Esp malfunction on mercedes. The ESP is clearly still functioning and the car's performance seems to be unaffected. Not sure if it is a coincidence - but this message cropped-up within days of taking the car in to Mercedes for annual maintenance. Any thoughts on this issue? If it is a problem - does it sound like it would be covered by warranty?-Thx

Hello, I just got this 2006 CLS500 in limp mode with brake service at workshop warning along with ESP Malfunction/ABS light. Previous owner got it at 100k, drove 40k. Little maintenance done. Replaced the starter battery. Stopped driving it because of limp mode. Sat for probably 6 months I topped off the coolant and the engine oil.
